How to Play the C Major Scale

Start and finish at the root note (C – Do). You can find the C note in the C Major scale box highlighted in red on the third fret of the fifth string.

Finger numbers correspond to fret numbers. For example, the third finger plays on the third fret.

Use a guitar pick downwards only and play slowly. Practice the scale ascending and descending to reinforce it in your mind. Focus on correct notes and precise string selection.

How to Practice Guitar Scales

Consistent practice reinforces the scale in your mind. Do not rush; focus on playing each note accurately. Speed can be increased later after mastering the technique.

This method builds a complete musical system in your mind and enables you to use musical scales in improvisations and play your own melodies.
